Sunday Morning Inspiration: A Kung Fu Movie Pitch

A kid on the streets is a former kung fu prodigy, who flunked out after his parents died. Most of the time he just cuases trouble with his gang of misfits, until one day he ends up saving a young girl's life from a shady bunch of men by using his fighting skills. The next day he is approached by an enthusiastic youngbusinessman looking to sponser him at an upcoming kung fu tournament, and he turns the guy down, saying that it was a fung fu master who killed his parents. He's disgusted with the ancient art he used to obsess over.

The businessman, who has hope for the poor boy, persists. He forcibly enrolls him in a training academy. The boy is careless at first, easily defeating his opponents at first without much thought. He is then singled out by the teacher, a kung fu master. The boy shows him no respect. The master fights him and easily overcomes him, all the while taunting. He criticizes the boy's technique, saying he's not really trying, that his heart isn't in it. The kid snaps, suddenly giving his all he easily defeats the teacher. He skips class the rest of the day.
