Why I am asking... )

Any tips for art projects having to do with recycling and "green" things? for 7-9 year olds?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mister Dan: Did you see Jack's drawing? He made himself into a monkey.
Me: Aww! :turns around to see the projects hanging on the wall: Oh, look, this one's Chewbacca!
Mister Dan: No, it's a monke--Hey, it's Chewbacca! (this is the first time he's stood back to look at it)
Me: This is Jack's?
Miss Kate: Wow, it's very...accurate.
Mister Dan: I didn't even realize. Jack told me that it was a monkey. Look, see? He drew a tail on.
Me: Still, he couldn't have done that on accident. Look at these details!
Miss Kate: Maybe it's a knowledge all children are born with.

01. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me.
02. Go to Google Images and search for that word.
03. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results.
04. Put this in your own journal so that I can do the same

I've been following as best I can, and I'm both terrified for those protesting and humbled by their courage. I hope that peace can be restored as soon as possible. The videos and news of violence make me want to hold tightly to everyone I love.

It's hard to know what's really going on. But from what I've seen, I wonder how the protests of the Iranian people relate. What's the connection, to the world, to history. Looking at our past conflicts, how will we end this? When I go to sleep tonight, what will the world be tomorrow? How much of this is new and how much has been happening since before I was born? I can't decipher the thousands of messages, all entangled. I can only watch.

It has been. Three weeks. Since the last RPM episode.

Why did I start watching this at the beginning. If I had waited until after it finished airing like I always do, I would not be in this much pain. AUUGH CLIFFHANGER I KNEW YOU WHERE COMING BUT I DISLIKE YOU NONETHELESS.

[personal profile] rosabelle , you are an adorable and hilarious commentator.

Update on Project Cat Yodelling: no progress.
My cat is one of those that just goes mute after you pick him up. He's also one who ignores you and sasses you until you pick him up, toss him around a bit, and carry him backwards over your shoulder across the room. Then suddenly he's in love with you and all purring and shadowing you everywhere. For as long as his attention holds, which is about three minutes.

♥ I really super love Adam Lambert and want him to sing all the time forever, oh my god. That boy has dreamy pipes. ♥

John D and I had a lovely time looking through the concept art for Fusion Fall. Looking through familiar images from your youth is a very exhilarating experience! I miss those old Cartoon Network shows. I used to really like Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Remember that Dexter's Lab movie with the time machine? And Megas XLR! Do want!

Tonight, I watched GLEE.

Which may or may not have been good.

But Abbs and I were so excited that during the final number we deteriorated into giggles and squeals and then applauded furiously.

Ok, it's a High School Musical rip-off, but JOURNEY!! Don't stop beliiiievin'!

In other news, I engaged in what I believe is referred to as a "puppy pile" with aforementioned Abbs, Heather and Celine on their couch while studying the subtle art of cat yodeling.

So, I guess I'm here now! Cool? So far, yes. I like this idea of a fan-community-oriented journal site. I hope I can become closer to others who share my interests and share some of my works with them, too!

Thank you [personal profile] rosabelle  and starandrea! lots of hearts for you both!
digitalruki: Dillon and Ziggy (Dillon and Ziggy)
right after I watch the new RPM episode, I'm usually in a manic state of both excitement and frustration. Thus is my demeanor this afternoon, after just watching Blitz. OH MY GOD.

1)Shadowy dream sequence of angst is my guilty pleasure. Why did it take place in Doc K's lab, though?
2) Ziggy saves Dillon! :D :D
3) That's right, miss Teneya, sweet dreams, I bet I know what they're about. Are they about a lost brother, perchance?

But I was kind of peeved about the ending, first because of some really awkward flirting between Dillon and Summer (I'm still waiting to be impressed by this subplot) and then the whole virus-in-body thing. Let me guess, Dillon goes all evil but miraculously overcomes it. Then again, RPM is pretty good about not exactly following the cliche's. This series can be refreshingly self-aware.

Goals for the summer:
Get a lot of commission work, do them well, finish my fanfiction and watch a whole lot of cartoons.

Um, is it just me or is Quantum Leap totally awesome?

in other news, I talk about real life and how I suck at it. )

digitalruki: Dillon and Ziggy (Dillon and Ziggy)

So, since RPM has become what I look forward to watching each week, here is why I love Ziggy.

He's been playing the part of a former criminal, of someone untrustworthy. But he's also a Ranger, and we all knew deep down that he was good, that he had just gotten into some kind of trouble by accident, or that he'd done something really bad in the past but had repent. We knew it had to be something, we just didn't know what.

Ziggy is like Jack; he has his own definition of justice, and his own agenda of people who need help. Part of his clumsiness and incompetence seems to be an act, and, just has he says, he has enough heart to make up for everything he lacks.

And finally, when his buddy from the crime syndicate told Dr K. the real story, he had said that he'd helped Ziggy get out of the city. That he didn't know why Ziggy had come back. While at the same time, we see a flashback to when Ziggy and Dillon first met. Even if I don't slash it, it's still beautiful.

:( I need something else to love in-between Saturdays.

In other news, I have a lot of work to finish before 8 tomorrow morning. 16 hours to go! Brandon, Abby, Heather, and I rocked out to the orchestral MMPR theme and then we did the time warp and sang "Be A Man". :)

That's right, after 17 long seasons, the last will be R.P.M.

Some of you might ask me, They still make Power Rangers? To which I will reply, again, Yes they do. And yes, some seasons are even as good as Mighty Morphin.

Why I enjoy RPM... )

:)!!! So now, like it or not, the RPM team has a clumsy, bumbling Green Ranger. Who, actually, is totally adorable in his skinny little suit. The episode was a little rushed and, while entertaining, didn't exactly make sense. but, Yay! Scaredy-cat Green hiding behind tough Black as the other rangers question his identity=so cute!!

I will be watching the rest of this series because A) it's my last chance to, and B) the Green Ranger. Again. As always.

It's finally over!!! Seriously, I'm never doing that again. 4 Studio classes + 2 clubs + 1 job is not impossible, but it definitely left little to no room for spending time with loved ones. It seemed like I only had 4 classes total, because that art history course required no work, and only took up a few hours of each week. That was nice. In light of which, perhaps taking more classes with Bodil would be a good idea. She seems to like me even though I was such a slacker. Well, art history is easy. As for my other classes, I'll be very glad to leave them behind, and start some new projects.

My portfolio is quite full of new, fabulous work, all of which can be seen at my blog. Eventually it'll all be added to my portfolio site as well. Over break I plan to touch up some pieces, draw a lot of cartoons, and write--fan fiction, of all things! I'm really excited about the two I'm writing right now. they're on ff.net: Headcase and Beacon, both Tin Man, both about Glitch. Because, you know, he hasn't been written about nearly enough yet.

And, eventually, maybe I'll write something original. I want to write some stories about my workplace.

Thanks for putting up with me all semester! And now, onward!

I have not updated my journal for several months. Why? well, because school picked up and I found myself with little to say that was new and interesting. I have, however, been making icons on-and-off, and thought I'd stick them here. You'll notice the abundance of Alan Cumming--He is my current obsession.

Oh yeah! We uploaded Ice Cream Club to Youtube! The more I watch it, the more I think how god-awful it is. Which would be a good thing, because it would show how we've improved, but really I think we just blew a lot of things. anyway, I'm biased. I wonder if anyone can enjoy it? our channel on youtube is rukimikocado, go check it out. I also uploaded a tin man music video on my channel, digitalruki.

Today Abby, Megan, Kat, Christina, and I compared our deoderants. Megan, Kat and I all have men's deoderants like Axe or Old Spice. We all agree that wearing men's deoderants is almost the same as actually have a sweet-smelling boy to carry around with you. It even fulfills those late-night cravings--Megan reads off the lable of her Old Spice- After Hours to us. "It says 'Maximum Performance,'" she says. Even better than a full tube of Astro-Glide, yes?

MICA orientation is over tonight after the BBQ. Which I'm dreading because it will feature upperclassmen. what keeps me going in these dark times? Avatar, Gurren Lagann, and Sentai Gekiranger. mmm.
